Get to know me
Hi, I'm Kerry the owner and instructor at Elle Plate Driving School. I'm Originally from New Zealand and moved to Australia 26 years ago.
My journey began when I taught my daughter and two stepchildren to drive. This was something I found easy and rewarding. I loved helping them reach such an important goal, in their lives.
YEARS LATER: I saw a sign saying driving instructors needed, a light came on, "now that's a job I would love to do". So, that's exactly what I set out to do. Working in my own lawn mowing business, full time and studying to become a driving instructor, was a challenge, but a challenge I knew would pay off.
After three and a half years as an instructor, working 6 days, split between mowing lawns, (hard work) and teaching student, to become, safe, aware, and confident drivers. I knew this was where I wanted to be. Helping students, no matter their age, or where their driving skills were at. I was able to help them. Achieve their goals and them been able to drive by themselves, a great milestone for anyone, and everyone. I decided it was time to spread my wings, and start Elle Plate Driving School, and go Full time. no more mowing lawns.
